Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT

Rising Dragoon conduct themselves with honor and respect for other players at all times. We remember always that there is a real live human on the other end of the keyboard, and treat them as we would like to be treated. We are each responsible to demonstrate clearly the quality of people in our Legion, at all times, in all aspects of the game. Within the Legion, we are always respectful and helpful to each other. Outside the Legion we will always show respect for our fellow players.

Rising Dragoon will use a “Three Strikes and You're Out” rule. Legitimate and proven complaints about a player’s behavior and/or actions which reflect poorly on the player and our Legion will result in that player receiving a strike; the third strike will result in a player’s removal from the Legion. Actions of a serious nature which are proven to be true will result in the immediate removal of the offending player from the Legion. It is at the Legion Officers’ discretion of what warrants a strike. Immediate removal has to be approved by the Leader. A few examples of actions that would result in the immediate removal are (but not limited to): exploiting, game fixing, etc.

MEMBERSHIP

The hierarchy of the Legion is as follows:

Brigade/Leader (Legion Master)

Centurion/Officer (Officer)

Class Leaders (Class Leaders)

Banker (Officer Alts and Legion Banks)

Dragoon (Member)

Recruit (Recruit)

The Legion Master and Officers are in charge of the overall Legion functions; from day to day operations to organizing and leading raids. They will also take on tasks such as running the Legion bank, and recruitment.

Class Leaders are players who have proven themselves as knowledgeable and skillful in their class. First and foremost, they want what is best for the Legion and they want to push us forward into new content, sharing in the Legion Master’s vision of RD. They will aid the Officers by organizing Dragoons of their class and fielding any questions the Dragoons may have about their role during specific encounters.

Recruits are players who are "trying out" for a Member position. They are subject to a week trial period, where their attitude, skills, and ability to follow direction will be closely watched. Recruits can be removed from the Legion at any time during their trial period if the Officers feel they are not the kind of players that RD is looking for. If they pass the probationary period, they will be promoted to Member and will receive all the benefits thereof.

Promotion and Demotion Guidelines

Conduct that affects the enjoyment of others (such as abuse of other members in chat, selfish or immature behavior, or hoarding resources and/or loot) may, at the discretion of the Officers and Legion Master, result in Members being demoted or removed from the Legion.

RECRUITING

To be a successful and growing Legion, RD is always in need of new recruits. However, because the members have a significant impact on the style and quality of the Legion overall, the Legion Master and Officers are responsible to ensure that only the best and most appropriate players become members of RD.

At times, the Legion will openly recruit for new players. Recruiting this way will be done for specific classes and types of players that are needed to advance the Legion overall. Positions open for recruiting will be placed on the Legion website and handled in the Legion forum.

Furthermore, we pride ourselves on the friends we've made within the Aion. To keep the friendly and family oriented nature of the Legion moving forward, friends/family may be invited to the Legion as well.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

In any group, disputes and disagreements are unavoidable. We expect our members to settle most disputes among themselves and in private. In cases where both parties cannot agree to resolve a dispute, they may ask a more senior member to resolve the dispute for them. If the dispute is not resolved at that point, it can be appealed to the Leader. The Leader may ask other Officers to assist in settling the dispute, or he may elect the handle the matter on his own. In any event, the decision of the Leader is final.

Most disputes will be settled in private and should be kept out of general Legion chat. In cases where it is in the best interest of the Legion overall, the Officers may make the nature of the dispute and the resolution public to the other Legion members.

In the event that players outside the Legion have a dispute with a member of RD, an Officer will be assigned to address the dispute. In the event that the Officer cannot resolve the dispute to the satisfaction of both parties, it may be appealed to the Legion Master. Again, the Leader may elect to resolve the matter directly, or he may ask one or more Officers to assist in a decision. Once a decision is reached by the Leader, it is not subject to further appeal.

BANK

The Legion bank exists so that we can develop the Legion team. Items collected on Legion raids and groups which are not needed by the members may be forwarded to the bank so that other members can take advantage of our good fortune by using the items we find in game. Bank items are held on the Banker toons. Items for the bank may be sent using in-game mail. Officers will have the final say in what is being given out and to whom. If at any point you are caught selling anything from Legion bank for personal gain, you will be removed from Legion.

When you are finished with the item, if possible, return it to the Legion Bank. If the item is soul-bound to you (green gear for example), sell it to the NPC and donate the money to the legion. It is expected that players will be, on balance, net contributors to the bank. This means that players requesting items from the bank will be expected to have made contributions to the bank beforehand, and player contributions will be considered when a request for a bank item is made.

Crafting is a good way to make money and support your character. It would be nice to contribute your crafting to the legion bank as well. Foods, potions, armor, weapons, etc. All donated will be used for when we do raids and also if needed, distributing it among members.

Taxes will take place within the legion and each member based on level will have a fee towards the legion. This makes the legion able to grow and pay off funds for legion necessities such as large kisks, torrents for fortress protection, etc.

ALL RULES MAY BE CHANGED IF LEADER FEELS NEEDED.

General Legion Rules
(Version 1 - Updated Aug 7th)

1. Jokes aside, you will not be rude, impolite, crude, insult or swear at or towards any member in the legion, in any chat (alliance, group, normal, legion, etc.). All members are treated equally and that includes members outside of the legion.

2. If any conflict, drama or problems arise with anybody when wandering around in game or with a team of people that are not "RDragoon", do not retaliate with words over public or private chat to the opposing person/groups outside RDragoon. Contact a leader or an officter immedeatly to take control of the situation. Give their toon name and legion name and the leader/officer will do what we can to straighten things out. Either by the player or with the player's legion leader of officer.

3. There is to be no discussion of anything that could lead to people being offended in legion chat. If it subject starts to offend somebody end it.

4. If you feel there is any problem or issue do not argue or abuse each other. Contact officers or a leader to try and resolve it. Officers and leaders are to be trusted to have both authority and knowledge, and thus should be treated with respect.

5. If you need any small items then feel free to ask but do not spam or beg in the legion channel. Any members found to be asking for items then caught selling them will be dealt with.

6. When possible help each other with quests as it may be you needing help another time. If you need help and no-one is available, just wait it till someone offers (It's not too hard in this legion). However ensure that you try the quest/mission first to ensure you need help, as you may be preventing someone who does need help from receiving it. Also ensure you give details of the help you require.

7: Any Member not Online for 1 Month without previous notice to an officer or leader may be kicked from the guild and there forum position removed (either to Retired/Exiled or Recruit), If you do find that you are banned from the RD Site or kicked please whisper your Leader or Officers to have it amended/re-invited. If you are going to be absent for a few days or so, please post it so you can let all the legion members know.

8. Questioning Officers, Leaders or rules is considered questioning the legion as a whole. This should be done only with valid reasons, proper argumentation and never with the intention to provoke aggression.

9. Any Members of the Alliance found to be in-breach of Aion’s Terms of Agreements will be kicked and reported. That includes botting, hacking, exploits and any other form of cheating.

Forum Rules
(Version 1 - Updated Aug 7th)

We have implemented the following guide for using our community forums. This guide is designed to strike a balance between the main goal of our forums, for a healthy discussion of various topics related to RDragoon and Aion, and keeping the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of our community which has made our forums so popular.

  • We require all posts to be positive, constructive, and on topic. We may delete individual posts that could ruin a good topic thread.
  • We reserve the right to remove any topics we deem inappropriate or disruptive to our community. Please note that, from time to time, topics may be removed for being inappropriate even though your individual post in that topic may have been perfectly fine. Please do not feel this reflects badly on you.
  • Having fun is good, we like fun. There are several general forums to choose from. Please keep it positive and polite. We do not censor opinions or ideas on our forums but we do take action against posts and/or topics that could cause unrest in the community beyond a civil and polite disagreement.
  • You may not make personal attacks on other users or members either in public forums or private messages.
  • Please keep profanity to a minimum. It is unprofessional and offensive and will not be tolerated if abused.
  • You may not advertise or promote other guilds which may compete with RD.
  • We reserve the right to ban any member who violates our guidelines or disrupts our community. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases.
  • If you have an issue concerning our services, policies, or staff, please use a personal contact method such as a private message or email to a staff member. We take serious complaints to heart and will do our best to address them.

The Golden Rules

  • There will be no excessive use of profanity.
  • There will be no racial, ethnic, gender based insults or any other personal discriminations.
  • There will be no posts meant to offend or hurt any other member, in a manner which is offensive or inflammatory.
  • Spamming is not permitted; please keep all your posts as constructive as possible.
  • Pornography, Warez, or any other illegal transactions may NOT be linked on the forums.
  • All posts are property of the poster. This forum and all web sites owned in conjunction with this forum have the right to request alteration or deletion of any offensive post. Posts may be deleted for any reasons the forum administrators deem reasonable.
  • Users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator/officer in question via PM. If the problem cannot be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin. The forum admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions.
  • Pictures may be posted as long as they are not explicit or offensive. If you plan to post many images in one post, please link the images rather than screening.
  • Advertising competing guilds are forbidden in any relation to your account.
  • Please keep foul language to a minimum, any excessive un-called for language will be removed and you will receive a final warning.
  • Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other topics and see where your topic should go. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it will be moved by a moderator.
  • If a topic is recognized as being posted in the wrong forum, or if the post is a violation of our guidelines then please contact a moderator/officer/ either via PM or the 'report post to moderator' feature; please do not respond publicly to the member - a member of staff will do what is required upon contact. Any person/s who attempt to present themselves as a Moderator by posting negatively to a member's topic (which has been posted in error and requires locking or moving to another forum) will be sent a PM warning and placed into moderation queue upon further actions.
  • Any impersonation of a user from these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in a banning.
  • Linked and locked topics may be pruned to reduce page clutter. If you have a question about where your topic went, please PM a Moderator or Administrator before starting a new topic asking where it went, or posting a duplicate of the original topic. We will be happy to provide you with a link to the new location, or a reason why it was locked and/or removed.
  • You may have one username on the board at any one time. If you wish to change your name, please contact an admin to have it done. We reserve the right to merge or delete multiple accounts.

Violation of any of these rules will result in consequences determined on a case-by-case basis.
